Elon Musk: ‘I Just Like Dogecoin’

Elon Musk asserts that he is not “actively involved” in cryptocurrency, but his recent mentions of Dogecoin seem to be pushing the price of the meme coin higher.

Elon Musk stated that he does not “actively participate” in cryptocurrency, but simply likes Dogecoin for its humor, meme culture, and the image of its dog mascot.

At a rally supporting Donald Trump in Pennsylvania, Musk was asked about integrating blockchain into government.

He is currently a Republican and supports Trump’s reelection. Trump even mentioned that Musk could lead a government efficiency improvement committee called D.O.G.E. if he wins the election.

Dogecoin (DOGE), now the ninth-largest cryptocurrency by market capitalization, has risen nearly 22% over the past week, trading at over $0.14.

Although still far from its peak of $0.73 in 2021, DOGE reached a four-month high over the weekend, thanks to Musk’s tweet: “D.O.G.E. will fix it.”

Investors view this as a sign of support for the cryptocurrency.

Musk has also denied rumors about supporting Trump on cryptocurrency policies, stating that he has never discussed the topic with Trump.

However, Trump has promised to help Bitcoin thrive if elected and has launched his own DeFi project, although a recent token sale was unsuccessful.
